The most used quote about time is "I don't have time". Since everyone
has the same 168 hours a week (10,080 minutes) to be rich or poor, happy
or sad, or a winner or looser, why is that so many people can not or
do not manage their time. Why does it seem like the very successful
people seem to have more time than anyone else. They are always happy,
active and involved in every thing. A common denominator for most successful
people is their successful management of time.
Did you ever stop and think that you really have time to do the things
you really want to do? Most of the things in our business or home life
that don't get done are the things we like to do the least. It is human
nature to do the easy or favorite things first and leave the unpopular
items for later. We have it in the back of our minds that it will go
away or someone will change their mind about that needing it to be done.
It should go without saying, that chore; task or item never goes away.
Most likely it will get worse and harder as time passes.
Procrastination is the key word of all your problems. If you can stop
procrastinating, you can stop reading this article and go forth and
solve all you time problems. But as most people cannot, you need to
develop some tools and tricks to assist you in managing your time wisely.
Procrastination must become one of the most used words in your vocabulary.
Remind yourself often of this word. You are already doing it everyday.
No matter how many time saving tools and tricks you learn, if you do
not use or practice them in a concerted effort you will never get better
or improve your use of time. If you want to improve at golf, fishing,
sewing, playing the piano or guitar, baseball, singing, typing, drawing,
video games, square dancing or anything you must practice. Repetition
of any activity allows a person to become familiar with such and which
makes it part of their natural reactions. It is just like everyone has
said, "it is just like falling off a bicycle". Once you do anything
enough it become second nature and easier. Time management must become
second nature to you if you wish to ever improve and gain back valuable
time.
You are the sole motivation to your own successful use of time. Good
luck.
